About the role
We are looking for a Head of Strategy who will play a critical role in ensuring we successfully evolve and deliver our strategy over the coming years. You will be responsible for driving our strategic agenda from articulation to execution.
You will report into our Group Finance Director, with direct working with the CFO and high exposure to the broader Exec and Board and will work with teams right across the organisation. Our intention is that this role will be a route into our Group for a leader who wants to develop a general management career in a pure-play digital business, who are listed on the London Stock Exchange as part of the FTSE 250 index.
This role is based at our London HQ in Soho (Dean Street). We operate a hybrid working model, where we spend 40% of the month in the office, the rest can be worked from home.
What you will be doing
You will be working with stakeholders across the Group to shape our strategic priorities as well as ensure we deliver our ambitious growth plans, this would include:
Support the business in articulating its strategic goals, ensuring they are aligned to our mission and values
Lead Executive and Board Strategy Days, defining and preparing appropriate content for this senior audience as well as facilitating productive in-room conversations and decision making
Lead the annual strategic planning process, supporting initiative assessment, prioritisation and business objectives alignment as well as driving high levels of engagement and ownership from the Senior Leadership Community
Build strong relationships across all levels and functions to effectively support the Exec and the Senior Leadership Community in formulating strategic plans for their areas and presenting these in a compelling way to the Board
Lead the end-to-end process for assessing different strategic opportunities, including research into new areas to identify attractive growth venues
Monitor delivery of strategic initiatives and regularly report progress against strategic milestones and KPIs to Exec and Board
Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication of our strategic direction and progress
Identify and champion opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement withing the organisation
Develop expertise in our markets, competitor landscape as well as trends impacting our industry so you can continuously challenge our thinking on driving the business forward
Work closely with the Finance and Corp Dev team, assisting with target assessment and commercial diligence when required
What we look for
Proven strategy consulting experience from a top-tier consultancy
Preferably, proven success in an in-house corporate strategy role, preferably in a digital business
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed strategic decisions
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment
A real focus on the customer and on ensuring that everything we do delivers a great outcome for our customers
Proven influencing and relationship building skills
Comfortable with challenging the business on complex, data driven decisions
Strong presenter and communicator with an ability to tell the story behind plans and numbers in a way that drives insight and action
